For what began as Ghost Voices and then reworked and transformed into celestial Angel Voices, Porter Robinson unveiled two key concepts of the Virtual Self story. The Virtual Self project has shined an exciting light on dance music and inspired an innumerable demographic of artists to explore new avenues of production. One of which is on-the-rise producer, LICK. Most known for his REVOLT EP put out by Deadbeats earlier this year, LICK adds his dark and bass-filled drop to cast an intense yet vibey layer over the ethereal sounds of the Angel Voices track.
Angel Voices isn’t the only thing we’ve heard with that signature LICK twist. His staple sound also came through in his recent edit of Illenium’s Needed You and official remix of Zed’s Dead & Jauz’s Lights Go Down; a sound so unique and striking, it has us begging for more.
Lucky for us, LICK has another official remix scheduled to release mid-December along with a sequel EP projected early next year both on the Deadbeats label. In other LICK news, the artist has recently joined the United Talent Agency roster assuring his expanding fan base a live taste of these profound dark vibes come 2019.
